Summary: The Senior Field Engineer plays a crucial role in providing technical expertise and support for on-site installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex systems and equipment. This role requires a high level of

technical proficiency, leadership, and customer interaction to ensure successful project execution and client satisfaction. Responsibilities:

1. On-site Technical Expertise:
   • Lead the installation, configuration, and testing of advanced systems and equipment at client locations.
   • Provide in-depth technical knowledge to resolve complex technical issues and challenges.
   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of systems.
2. Project Management:
   • Act as a point of contact for clients during the project lifecycle, addressing their technical queries and concerns.
   • Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure on-time and within-budget project completion.
   • Conduct thorough site assessments and risk evaluations before project initiation.
3. Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
   • The technician must have hands-on experience with hardware such as hubs, bridges, LAN switches, WAN routers, and modems.
   • They should possess knowledge of IP addresses and understand what subnets are.
   • They should have a working knowledge of layer 2 technologies, including Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, Serial, ATM, ISDN, DSL, and Optical, among others.
   • They should have a basic understanding of protocols like FTP, TFTP, and loopback addresses.
   • The technician should be able to identify Cisco products by logo markings, model numbers, and components like WIC, VIC, VWIC, Network Modules, and power supplies.
   • They should have knowledge of storage solutions such as Flash, NVRAM, PCMCIA/COMPACT FLASH.
   • The technician should be capable of working in different operating modes like User/Privileged EXEC Mode and Global configuration mode, and they should be able to navigate between these modes.
   • They must have knowledge of working commands like ping, write/erase memory, etc.
   • They need to have knowledge of the Windows 10 Pro and Enterprise operating systems.
   • The technician should carry a laptop and console cable.
4. Leadership and Training:
   • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior field engineers, fostering their technical growth and skill development.
   • Conduct training sessions and workshops for clients and internal teams on product usage, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
   • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all on-site activities, including installation procedures, configurations, and issue resolutions.
   • Generate comprehensive reports for clients and internal stakeholders, highlighting project progress and outcomes.
6. Continuous Improvement:
   • Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in the field.
   • Propose and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality of field operations.
7. Customer Relationship Management:
   • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, acting as a technical advisor and ensuring their needs are met effectively.
   • Gather feedback from clients to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field. Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in field engineering or a related technical role.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal teams.
• Leadership skills to guide and mentor junior engineers.
• Proficiency in documentation and report writing.
• Willingness to travel extensively to client sites as required.
