Overview
The Senior ServiceNow Developer is a key technical resource within AVASO’s Enterprise Technology & Enablement function, responsible for the stability, development, and integration delivery of the ServiceNow platform. This is a hands-on role operating across platform administration, B2B API integrations, data migrations, and compliance-driven initiatives. The successful candidate will independently own client-facing deliverables end-to-end, manage concurrent workstreams, and contribute to the scalability of AVASO’s ServiceNow capability. The role requires deep technical expertise, strong ownership, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced global services environment.

Job Description / Role
The Senior ServiceNow Developer is responsible for hands-on delivery across the full ServiceNow stack: platform administration, custom application development, ITSM module configuration, B2B integrations, and data migrations. Operating within the ET&E function, the role covers both internal platform health and client-facing delivery programs, including active integration projects with enterprise clients and multi-track data migration programs with strict contractual timelines. The candidate will also contribute to governance and compliance streams, including FedRAMP readiness and GDPR alignment within the ServiceNow environment.
Core Responsibilities
Platform Administration & Development
- Administer and maintain the ServiceNow production instance, ensuring platform health, performance, and availability
- Design, develop, test, and deploy custom applications, workflows, and enhancements on the ServiceNow platform
- Configure and maintain ITSM modules including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Service Catalogue, and CMDB
- Develop business rules, client scripts, UI policies, script includes, scheduled jobs, and scripted REST APIs
- Manage platform upgrades, patch cycles, and instance cloning activities
B2B & API Integrations
- Design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and external client systems using REST APIs, SOAP, MID Server, and Integration Hub
- Support active integration projects across clients including Axalta, Zoetis, Pomeroy, GTT, and Freshservice from development through go-live
- Build and maintain integration error handling, retry logic, and operational monitoring dashboards
- Contribute to middleware evaluation and integration pattern standardisation within the ET&E function
Data Migrations
- Lead and execute data migration activities across client programs including Dell Federal, Commercial, ESG, and OCONUS tracks
- Develop and validate migration scripts, transformation logic, and reconciliation reports using Transform Maps and import sets
- Coordinate with client stakeholders on data quality validation, UAT, and cutover planning
Compliance & Governance
- Support FedRAMP compliance activities within the ServiceNow platform environment
- Contribute to GDPR policy alignment, data classification, and platform governance documentation
- Maintain SLA configuration, performance monitoring, and compliance reporting aligned to contractual obligations
Testing, Deployment & Hypercare
- Perform unit, functional, integration, and regression testing for all platform changes and new deliverables
- Lead and support UAT cycles with internal teams and client stakeholders
- Provide post-deployment hypercare coverage and conduct root cause analysis for production incidents
- Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational handover materials
Additional Areas of Focus
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with client technical contacts and integration counterparts
- Identify and flag delivery risks early, proposing mitigation actions without waiting to be directed
- Contribute to the ongoing standardisation of ServiceNow development practices and documentation within the team
- Support knowledge transfer and onboarding of team members where applicable
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
Experience
- 6 to 8 years of hands-on ServiceNow administration and development experience
- Demonstrated expertise in ServiceNow scripting: Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, and Scripted REST APIs (JavaScript / GlideScript)
- Proven track record delivering B2B integrations using REST APIs, SOAP, MID Server, and Integration Hub
- Practical experience with ITSM module configuration and CMDB management
- Hands-on experience managing ServiceNow data migrations using Transform Maps, import sets, and scheduled imports
- Experience supporting UAT, cutover planning, and post-go-live stabilisation in client-facing programs
- Ability to independently manage client deliverables with minimal supervision in a distributed team environment
Certifications (preferred, not limited to)
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (ITSM, HRSD, or equivalent module)
- ITIL v4 Foundation
Nice to Have
- Experience in a global IT services or managed services environment
- Exposure to FedRAMP, GDPR, or other compliance frameworks within a ServiceNow context
- Familiarity with middleware or API management platforms such as n8n, MuleSoft, or Azure Integration Services
- Experience with CI/CD practices for ServiceNow development including Git-based update set management and the Automated Testing Framework
