8. Role Summary / Job Purpose

The Accounts Payable Senior Executive is responsible for end-to-end vendor payments, compliance validation, reconciliations, and month-end financial activities. The role ensures timely and accurate payment processing while maintaining strict adherence to statutory requirements (TDS, GST, MSME) and internal financial controls. This position also contributes to risk mitigation, reporting accuracy, and continuous process improvement within the Accounts Payable function.

9. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end vendor onboarding including verification of PAN, GST, MSME declarations, and bank details.
  • Process invoices, timesheets, advance requests, and schedule payments within defined timelines.
  • Upload and coordinate payment files with Treasury or banking platforms ensuring proper authorization workflows.
  • Ensure statutory compliance including TDS deductions, GST validations, reverse charge applicability, and MSME reporting.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies between ERP and bank statements.
  • Prepare aging reports, cash flow projections, and MIS reports for management review.
  • Support month-end closing activities including accruals, provisions, GL reconciliation, and audit schedule preparation.
  • Monitor vendor expenses against budgets and identify irregularities or risks in billing and payments.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and support internal and statutory audits.
  • Drive process improvements, update SOPs, and support automation initiatives within AP.

10. Required Skills

  • Technical Skills:

Hands-on experience with ERP systems and banking platforms.

Strong Excel skills including reporting and reconciliations.

In-depth knowledge of Indian taxation (TDS, GST) and compliance.

  • Functional Knowledge:

Strong understanding of AP, AR, and General Ledger processes.

Experience in month-end close, accruals, provisions, and audit coordination.

Risk identification and internal control adherence.

  • ERP Systems (SAP / Tally / Oracle / similar)

Authorized to validate and schedule vendor payments within approved limits and policy guidelines. Responsible for identifying compliance risks and escalating high-value or high-risk transactions to management.

Handles moderately complex financial transactions, reconciliations, and compliance validations. Requires analytical thinking, risk assessment capability, and coordination across departments to resolve discrepancies efficiently.

Internal stakeholders: Finance team, Treasury, Procurement, Department Heads, Leadership.
External stakeholders: Vendors, Banks, Auditors.
Non-client facing role with moderate to high cross-functional coordination.

15. Education & Certification Requirements

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Finance (B.Com/M.Com).
  • Preferred: Semi-qualified CA/ICWA or equivalent accounting certification.

16. Experience Requirements

3–5 years of experience in Accounts Payable or payment processing role, preferably in a multinational or large-scale organization. Experience in compliance, bank reconciliations, ERP systems, and audit coordination required.
