We are seeking a skilled Network Administrator to oversee and manage the organization’s network infrastructure. This role will ensure the network’s reliability, performance, and security by handling network devices, optimizing connectivity, and supporting both physical and virtualized network environments. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining smooth network operations and troubleshooting issues.
 

Key Responsibilities:
 

• Administer and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

• Configure, manage, and optimize LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks for reliable connectivity.

• Implement and support VLANs, subnets, IP addressing schemes, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).

• Manage physical network devices in the data center environment, including server switches and network connectivity.

• Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds and PRTG, ensuring high availability and security of all network components.

• Manage network security by configuring firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs to protect against threats.

• Respond to network security incidents and assist in vulnerability management and remediation.

• Identify and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal downtime for users and systems.

• Perform network performance optimization including traffic analysis, bandwidth management, and latency troubleshooting.

• Implement and test high availability and disaster recovery strategies for network infrastructure.

• Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and IP address assignments.

• Provide regular status updates and performance reports on the network’s health to management.

• Work closely with other IT teams (e.g., server, storage, and security teams) for smooth integration of network infrastructure with other services.

• Offer technical support to internal teams and users for network-related issues, providing timely resolutions.

• Participate in network projects, including infrastructure upgrades and expansions.
 

Requirements:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Infrastructure Network Administrator or similar role, managing enterprise-level networks.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, OSPF, BGP).
  • Hands-on experience with network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Proficiency with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark, or Nagios.
  • Solid experience in network security, including firewall configuration, IDS/IPS management, and VPN deployment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and work with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and personal vehicle for commuting and supporting nearby spoke sites within a 20-minute drive.
  • Must have strong Japanese language skills (native-level proficiency in both spoken and written communication is mandatory).
  • Must have expertise in Windows server/client support.
  • Must have strong network support knowledge, with experience handling L2/L3 class devices at both physical and network layers.
  • Must be available to stay in Utsugi, Hachioji-shi, Tokyo, for up to four weeks for on-the-job training (OJT) before deployment to manufacturing sites.
     

Preferred Skills:
 

• Certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or Juniper JNCIA.

• Experience with cloud networking solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure) and SD-WAN technologies.

• Knowledge of network automation (e.g., Ansible, Python) and load balancing technologies.

• Experience in managing data center network infrastructures and working with network virtualization tools like VMware NSX or Cisco ACI.

• Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting in hybrid environments (on-premises + cloud).
