KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

As part of the Site Technology Servicing team, the Deskside Installation Technician will provide onsite IT support focused on installation, deployment, and handling of end-user hardware within the defined project scope.


Installation & Preparation Activities

  • Unpacking, preparing, and building thin client devices
  • Maintaining inventory of devices and legacy hardware
  • Validating UBS end-user data via desk-side visits as part of the agreed end-user survey
  • Data wiping of legacy hardware using Blanco software application
  • Shift handover including completed tasks, issues, and planned activities for the next shift
  • Handling logistics, including movement of equipment and disposal of packaging in coordination with building management
  • Stock management and inventory updates, ensuring UBS CMDB (ISAC) is updated accurately

Deployment Activities

  • Deployment of thin client devices at user desks and decommissioning of existing hardware
  • Decommissioning and removal of legacy equipment to UBS central location (including packing for collection by disposal/re-marketing provider, where applicable)
  • Validating UBS end-user data via desk-side visits as part of the agreed end-user survey
  • Achieving an average of 15 desk deployments per shift (excluding logistics, reporting, and travel time)
  • Preparing nightly reports including:
    • Total number of devices deployed
    • Number of successful deployments
    • Number of failed deployments with reasons

PROJECT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with internal and external migration teams to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
  • Perform day-to-day project coordination activities, including preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports for the deployment stream
  • Supervise and coordinate team members to ensure workflow is on track
  • Communicate project status regularly to stakeholders
  • Identify potential issues and develop solutions
  • Raise requests to support engineering and project teams
  • Ensure all activities are performed in line with UBS policies and guidelines


TRAINING & PREREQUISITES

  • Training will be provided by the customer for the defined scope and responsibilities
  • All resources must comply with customer policies, safety standards, and operational guidelines
